There was a ton of snow! Too much in fact. We watched the snow groomer clear the snow off of his truck... we don't know how long the truck been parked there but he had three feet of snow on top of it! The groomed trails made for good skiing but the ungroomed portions were so deep with powder, the second you crossed into it, you came to an abrupt stop. It was also really windy and caused low visibility so half of the mountain was closed. We thought about taking Kinsley with us (3 1/2 is a good age to learn to ski right?) but we decided not to-- good thing-- she would have been miserable (which would have made us miserable). We basically had the mountain to ourselves. At no time were there any people four chairs in front of us or four chairs behind us.
Although the conditions weren't the greatest-- we had a great time. Skiing is enjoyable when I am with Eric.
Powder up to Eric's knees.
Jumps...or bumps?!
As you can see, the thick powder combined with the flat mountain made it impossible to get enough speed to catch any air. Anytime we crossed into the ungroomed snow, we literally had to cross-country ski our way out of it.
