We had planned on spending Eric's day off at the lake but those plans were replaced by a visit to the sprinkler park. Kinsley LOVES to swim--this morning when she woke up the first thing she said was, "Swim Mommy?" We thought she would love playing at the sprinkler park--we thought wrong. If we ever need to punish Kinsley for misbehaving, we'll just make her stand under one of the sprinkler for 5 minutes. She absolutely HATED it!

Our 4th Of July Weekend
I was finally able to finish chalking my 4th of July stitchery. Last year, en route to Nauvoo, I stitched these but it took a year to finish the project.
Eric took Kinsley, on a daddy daughter date, to a Red Birds game and firework show while I had a "girls night out" and saw the movie Eclipse. I loved the movie! Kinsley loved running around at the game and sliding down the hill.
Grandma bought Kinsley this 4th of July outfit.

Apparently, 24 months is still too big and fell off of her as we were heading out the door to have dinner at a friend's house. Maybe, she will wear it next year.

Fortunately for her, there was a playground nearby so she enjoyed running around on the toys and swinging. Eric wanted to act like a child again so he swung in a nearby swing. He swung as high as he could and then decided it would be a good idea to jump out of the swing.
Unfortunately for Eric, he isn't as agile as he was when he was TEN and instead of landing on his feet landed on his elbow. We spent the next 2.5 hours at the medical clinic, worried it might be broken and convinced he would need stitches. It ended up not being broken and instead of stitches they glued poor Eric together again.
My one regret of the day was not having Eric's fall on video.

Kinsley was so cute at the Redbirds game. Sad her head got burned! Yeah we were a little to close to those fireworks :) To bad she didn't like the sprinkler park--maybe next year she will love it! I think the video of Eric falling off the swing would have been a clasic.
I'm sorry Kinsley didn't like the spray park - how sad! She seemed to like the little spray area in Tunica. Sad for Eric - but what was he thinking jumping out of a swing :) Glad it was minor and no stitches were required!
Eric, you made it sound like the cut on your elbow was as big as the red sea parted, looking at that picture I don't see any people crossing through there. You're such a pansy!
