The Best Fireworks We've Ever Heard

Yes, you read the title correctly... St. Louis had the best fireworks we have ever HEARD. We decided to stop in St. Louis on our way home from Nauvoo because they boasted about having the 5th best fireworks display in the US. They had more fireworks than any other display we've seen but the smoke from the first 5 minutes of the show stayed in one place making it impossible to see the fireworks for the last 15 minutes of the show. But the Grand Finale sure SOUNDED spectacular!

Apparently you can pay $10/person to go to the top of the arch but, by the time we arrived, the wait was 1.5 hours and we heard that 200+ people got stuck up there for 3 hours a couple of years ago when the elevator broke. So, we just took pictures from the ground.

The two loves of my life.

We arrived a little too early (4 hours before the band, Train, performed and 5 hours before the fireworks began), so Eric and Kinsley took a nap in the wet grass while Train performed.

Kinsley woke up right in time to see the fireworks and stared intently at them... for the few minutes you could actually SEE them.
